PSL Draft 2018: Qalandars bag de Villiers, Hafeez as Zalmi pick Misbah

ISLAMABAD: Lahore Qalandars picked former South Africa captain AB de Villiers and veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez in the player draft for the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL), being held in the capital.
 
The Sixth Team, formerly known as Multan Sultans, roped in Shahid Afridi, who previously represented Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi, and Australian batsman Steve Smith. 
Former captain of two-time champions Islamabad United, Misbah ul Haq, was picked by Peshawar Zalmi. 

A total of 663 foreign and local players are available to be picked in the draft, by the six franchises: Islamabad United, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars and the ‘Sixth Team’.

President, PM urge nation to follow teachings of Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him)

ISLAMABAD: Congratulating the nation on Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him), President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan in their separate messages on Wednesday called for the teachings of Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) to be followed.

In his message, President Alvi said we should give preference to collective national and religious interests and bring positive change in our deeds and actions to transform the country in accordance with the State of Medina.

While, Prime Minister Imran Khan in his message said the nation should pledge to follow the teachings of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) in true spirit while rising above any petty interests. The premier stressed that we should refrain from steps which distort the image of Islam in the world.

“We should promote unity, tolerance, brotherhood and interfaith harmony among our ranks as per the teachings of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him),” PM Imran said.

Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry also extended joyous felicitations to all Muslims and said that Eid Milad-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) reminds us of the golden principles of Islam.
The information minister said the day makes us understand the significance of the values of sacrifice, tolerance, brotherhood and unity among the Muslim community.

“Peace and progress of the country lies in following the teachings of Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) and injunctions of Islam at the individual and collective level,” Chaudhry said.
